After the House of Representatives voted down the Iraq War funding portion of a larger spending bill last week, the U.S. Senate is now debating the war funding measure this week.
Calls, e-mails, and visits to, and nonviolent actions at your Senators’ offices are needed to make it clear that the people want an end to this immoral war and occupation.
The Declaration of Peace encourages diverse, passionate, and creative expressions of your opposition to further funding for the U.S. occupation of Iraq.
It is uncertain when the Senate may vote on the war appropriations measure. The vote may take place this week or it may occur when Congress has returned from its Memorial Day recess.
The important thing is that you communicate with your Senator about the need to end funding for the war and occupation in Iraq.
Our Senators must hear from everyone one of us, by word and action, before the funding vote takes place.
